2008 Brewers and Products
Who are they? Brewpubs, Microbreweries and Regionals. Brewpubs are very small breweries making only enough beer for consumption in the adjoining bar or restaurant, with some bottled off-sales. A microbrewery generally means a new-generation brewery sometimes not much larger than a brewpub, selling to the local market. A regional brewery may be old-established, or a new kid on the block, but with production larger enough to supply as much as several provinces or states.

Alpine Bohemian Pilsner (1 token) is a golden colored, full bodied example of this popular beer. A very slight maltiness is balanced with a generous dose of noble hops, which gives this beer a wonderful hoppy aroma without making it too bitter. Extremely “süffig” (quaffable).

Desperados (1 token) Lager beer with tegquilla 5.9 ABV. Gold coloured, full bodied, refreshing beer with an extra kick of tequilla.
Paulaner Hefe-Weisbier (1 token) Bavarian Wheat Beer 5.5% ABV. 60% malted wheat, 40% malted barley. Naturally cloudy. Clovey, fruity nose with a hint of banana.

Grasshöpper (1 token) Crisp and refreshing, Grasshopper is a delically hopped wheat ale that goes great wth a lemon wedge. Oh, and for the record, Grasshöpper contains abosolutely no grasshoppers.
Traditional (1 token) One of our flagship brews, Traditional Ale is an English-style amber, With a dark copper colour that flashes garnet when held to the light, Trad's soft but distinctive taste is a carefully crafted balance of malt and hops. A deeply satisfying ale.
XO Lager (1 token) XO is a pilsner-style lager with a light body and golden colour, It has a long-lasting, creamy head and a full, rich flavour. Its clean, crisp, well-defined finish is due to the finest Saaz hops from the Czech Republic. It might just the most authentic pilsner you’ve ever tasted.
Rock Creek Cider (1 token) At home at a backyard barbecue and on a formal dinner table, Rock Creek Cider is outstandingly versatile. The fruity aroma and flavour of the cider works well with fresh summer fruit, however, it is able to stand up to a variety of cheeses that are often served with apples like mild Cheddar, Brie, Gouda and Camembert. Cider also goes nicely with pork chops, with a simple ham sandwich, veal, most poultry, almost all grilled meats, fish, shrimp and pasta.

Blonde Pale Ale (1 token) Its well rounded softness results from the generous amounts of German Pilsner and Vienna malts that balance with a crisp yet cleansing Noble Saaz hop finish. As a straight forward lighter bodied ale, this Blonde was brewed for the summertime.
Scotch Ale (1 token) A very hearty, deep red ale with a full body and a fine malt character. With just enough hops to balance the malt, the result is smooth and rich without becoming too sweet. This beer is very satisfying by itself, but also goes well with red meats, stews and rich sauces.
India Pale Ale (1 token) A honey-amber colored India Pale Ale with good body, fairly strong alcohol content and an aggressive 'fresh hop' quality. A very refreshing beer, IPA can be enjoyed by itself for its many interesting flavor highlights. It also goes well with lighter foods like chicken, pasta, seafood or spicy foods.
Imperial Oatmeal Stout (1 token) A black, very rich and full-bodied stout with a silky smoothness that gives way to a long "roasty" finish. A heavy weight monster of a beer - not for the timid.

Brooklyn Lager (1 token) Lager beer in the “Vienna” style was one of the local favourites and displays a firm malt center supported by a fine bitterness and floral hop aroma. Caramel malts show in the finish. The aromatic qualities of the beer are enhanced by “dry-hopping”, the centuries-old practice of steeping the beer with fresh hops as it undergoes a long, cold matural. The result is a wonderfully flavourful beer, smooth, refreshing and very versatile with food.
Brooklyn East India Pale Ale (1 token) Our East India Pale Ale is a deep golden beer brewed from British malt and a blend of hops featuring the choice East Kent Golding variety. It is traditionally dry-hopped for a bright aroma of hops, lemongrass, pine and citrus fruit, and has a robust bitterness, a warming malt palate and a clean hoppy finish.
Brooklyn Weisse (1 token) Our Brooklyner Weisse is brewed in the classic German style from German wheat and barley malts. Our special Bavarian yeast products the flavours and aromas that wheat beers are prized for – bananas, cloves and melon, with a smoky note in the background. This beer is traditionally left unfiltered, so there’s a dusting of yeast still in the beer, adding the hazy appearance and great depth to the flavors.

Cannery Blackberry Porter (1 token) Five carefully chosen malted barleys are combined with three superior hop varieties to produce this traditional porter. Natural, pure Blackberry provides an exciting complexity to this easy sipping wonder.
Naramata Nut Brown Ale (1 token) This velvety soft Ale is an Okanagan winner. Rich dark malts, layered in a seamless manner produce an amazing smooth finish. This fuller bodied Ale is finely tuned by using fine bittering and flavour hops. Don't be Afraid of the Dark.
Anarchist Amber Ale (1 token) This is a full-bodied hand crafted Ale. A carefully chosen combination of malted barleys and Northwest hops results in a lingering finish. It is the harmony of hop and malt that makes this a beer lover’s beer.
Indian Rock IPA (1 token) An intricate and continuous blending of generous quantities of hops backed up with rich malt favour, produce this fine Ale with its complex character and lingering hop finish. “Fierce hop, Gentle bite.”

Backhand of God Stout (certified organic) (1 token) Our multiple award-winning dry stout is easy to drink, rich and inviting. It is extraordinarily smooth and mildly hopped with a distinct coffee/chocolate presence. 4.8% alcohol 18 IBU.
Hell's Kitchen Ale (certified organic) (1 token) Another award-winner, this Irish “Immigrant” ale is made with organic potatoes for an exceptionally smooth, silky body. It is extraordinarily rich in earthy malt flavour and body, balanced by plenty of new world hops. 5% alc/vol. 40 IBU.
Beyond the Pale Ale (certified organic) (1 token) A robust and flavourful bitter, with the aromas of BC Goldings hops and a firm, malty body with an exceptionally clean finish. Not for the faint of heart, and an excellent quenching ale for hard work or curry!
Bogtrotter Brown Ale (certified organic) (1 token) A soft brown ale with a hint of roast malt and chocolate. Full of flavour, with a light body and a lovely malty aroma. This is an excellent mild introduction to dark ales, without losing interest for experienced palates! 4.2% alc/vol 14 IBU

Robson Street Hefeweizen (1 token) (Hay-fuh-vy-tzen), an unfiltered wheat ale, is brewed from suspension of precious Bavarian yeast, generous amounts of malted wheat and German hops. A lemon wedge is the perfect accessory to the natural fruit flavours of this refreshing brew. 5% Alc/Vol.
Killarney Stout (1 token) The official beer of CelticFest Vancouver will ensure enough pleasure in every bottle to turn the Irish green with envy. This traditional Irish Stout is brewed with roasted barley, pale malt and English hops, a favourite at the festival. Enjoy a little St. Patrick’s Day “Luck of the Irish”. 5% Alc/Vol.

Growers Cider – Açai Berry (1 token) New Growers Açai Berry Cider is a testament to Growers’ long standing tradition of quality and innovation. The Brazilian rainforest açai berry (pronounced ah-sigh-ee), tastes like a refreshing, vibrant blend of dark, tropical berries with subtle hints of chocolate and is a small, round, black-purple fruit. This exotic blend of berries and traditional cider apples results in a crisp, exotic, refreshing summertime cocktail.

HYDRA Vodka Water Blackberry (1 token) Hydra Blackberry is made with vodka, the purity of fresh spring water and infused with natural blackberry flavours. It is 7% alcohol, but delivers a light, refreshing taste, not typical of a vodka cooler (usually sweet and sure to deliver a killer hangover the next day!). This clear and slightly carbonated beverage is easy to drink, with the perfect hint of blackberry followed by a crisp, clean finish.

Sergeant's IPA (1 token) The India Pale Ale is an old British style that was brewed strong and hoppy and shipped to troops in India. Sergeant's IPA uses special pale and crystal malts and loads of Goldings hops.
Sasquatch Stout (1 token) Our Sasquatch Stout is black and robust with a lot of body, just like the mysterious animal itself. It is brewed with oats, roast and chocolate malts. Delicious!

606 Pale Ale (1 token) 606 is a solid pale ale made with Maris Otter malt and a blend of hops to 50 IBU. There is a drying bitterness, but not over-the-top, just a refreshing balance.

Peel the wrapping off nice and slow. We warm it up a little and slip in the cherries, juicy and popping like crazy. Then we brew it. Let everyone know you drink it Your Rolodex will love you. Today's your lucky day.
Peaches 'N Cream (1 token) This beer is so good it could become a currency in a foreign country. Peaches and Cream is a lighter beer brewed with apricots and peaches. You'll want to wrap this up in cotton wool. Hide in a secluded corner and discover what every last bit of this beer tasted like. Your pants are on fire if you don't agree this is one of the best beers you've ever had.
Kettle Valley Amber (1 token) The Kettle Valley Amber Ale is like a badge of honour. Caramel and creystal malt combine to make a beer that's seven miles out of any others league. Hold onto it long enough to keep it cold "cause you're never going to have a party like this in your mouth ever again.
