OGOPOGO ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT...
ANNUAL CELEBRATION TO CONTINUE AS PLANNED!
After nearly 20 years serving as front man for the well-known Okanagan Fest-of-Ale,
the Ogopogo has announced that he will be stepping out of the spotlight.
“While the news comes as a shock to many involved, the future of the well-known consumer tasting event has never looked brighter”, says Society President Randy Kirkoski. “Topping the success of the 2014 event is going to be tough, but organizers are committed to doing just that in 2015. After 20 years, there is a lot to celebrate”.
Organizers of the event are seeking assistance from the ever-growing community of creative craft brew consumers, artistically inclined ale aficionados, and long- time festival followers in creating a new logo for release in conjunction with the 2015 event set to take place in Penticton April 10th and 11th, 2015.
The logo competition, appropriately dubbed, “Farewell Ogo, Choose My Logo”
will run December 23rd, 2014 – January 16th, 2015.
One logo will be selected at the discretion of the Okanagan Fest-of-Ale Society Board of Directors to be used for the ongoing promotion of the annual event. Along with bragging rights, the creator of the chosen logo will receive two (2) complimentary tickets per day to the 20th Annual Fest of Ale and $250 cash. In addition, two (2) complimentary one (1) day tickets to the event will be awarded for the following four (4) years. (Approximate value $500 CAD).
